Man stabs ex-girlfriend to death

A woman (29) from Usakos was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend.

The deceased has been identified as Lena Williams.

Erongo police spokesperson chief inspector Ileni Shapumba says the suspect (26) allegedly unlawfully and intentionally entered Williams’ house while she was out with friends.

He waited for her and upon her arrival, as she entered the house, allegedly stabbed her several times causing serious injuries.

“She was taken to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival,” Shapumba says.

Her next of kin have been informed.

Shapumba says the suspect then fled the scene with their three-year-old daughter, in the direction of the mountains.

“…but the kid was later found during the chase, unharmed,” says Shapumba.

The suspect has since been arrested with the help of a jellycopter aircraft provided by a farmer in the area.

He is due to appear in the Usakos Magistrate’s Court next week.

The cause of this incident is still not known.

Police investigations continue.
