Maria reflects on Nigerian experience

CREATIVE, Maria Nepembe continues to rub shoulders with royalty after she recently attended the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA’S) in Lagos Nigeria.

Thanks to Multichoice Namibia for flying me out. The event was so well organized and it was entertaining and fun. People came out dressed to the tee. They were extremely stylish. The red carpet was amazing and the stage was huge, Nepembe said.

She says Namibia and Nigeria arts industries can complement each other .

I think it was a world class event and I would not compare it to Namibia because they are two different industries, different populations and different budgets. I’m proud of the way Namibia’s big events are held and I think for our population we are doing very well, she said.

She also added that, I met a lot of people in the film industry that night, but I’ve already met and known them for a while. It was more of just reconnecting with them. I think what we could learn from them is just how the stakeholders invest a lot of funds into the entertainment industry and I think that’s the one thing we lack mostly in Namibia.- unWrap.online
