CELEBRATED music trio Matongo Family have embarked on a countrywide tour to take their music to fans who are not always lucky enough to see them on stage.
Starting out with a show that took place two weeks ago at Walvis Bay, the group will be performing at Keetmanshoop on Saturday, 16 December at YB Inn. These shows are strictly Matongo shows with the three performing music that they have done as a group and individually.
“It’s time we take these initiatives to those people who don’t usually get to see us. It’s also for us to be able to perform a little longer,” Strauss Lunyangwe said while adding that this is because usually, being part of a line-up with other artists means that they don’t get to perform most of their music because of time constraints. ‘One Night With The Matongos’ is an opportunity for fans to hear all their favourite songs by the group as well as some solo projects from the group members.
“We will be performing past, present and future songs,” said Lunyangwe. The group is adamant on keeping their fans happy and presenting their music to them in new ways. For this show, they’ve partnered with local community radio station Karas FM who have been giving away free tickets to the show throughout this week. The show will start at 20h00. Tickets are available at the venue.
Fans in other towns across Namibia can also expect to see ‘One Night With The Matongos’ soon, with Oshakati Stadium being next on the line-up.
