Mbumba reappoints Shikongo as police head for three years

President Nangolo Mbumba reappointed police inspector general Joseph Shikongo for another three years on Sunday.

Shikongo’s appointment is effective 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2027.

In the letter of appointment, Mbumba expressed confidence in Shikongo’s ability to execute his duties with professionalism and fairness.

This as Shikongo implements programmes directed towards the fight against crime, transformation and modernisation of the Namibian Police to be able to operate to the highest regional and global benchmarks, noted a statement from the presidency.

Shikongo turned 60 this week.
