Various auctions held as part of the Michelle McLean Children Trust Golf Day raised over N$300 000 to benefit the projects and initiatives of the trust.
During auctions at the Desert Sands and Rossmund Golf Course at Swakopmund recently, Michelle McLean-Bailey said 38 teams participated in the golf day.
“Thanks to the generosity and support of everyone involved, over N$300 000 was raised, including a remarkable N$90 000 donation from Stephan Snively, the honorary consul general of Namibia in Florida.
“Various auction items contributed to this huge success, ensuring a brighter future for Namibian children. A special thank you to Old Mutual Wealth for partnering with us to make this day possible. Their support as a key partner made a significant difference in the success of the event,” she said.
McLean-Bailey said besides the Michelle McLean Primary School in Otjomuise, Windhoek, they would also like to embark on various projects, including financial literacy programmes for pupils and women in business.
“Financial skills programmes empower underserved communities, helping them understand financial acumen and further themselves in business and their personal lives.”
She said the golf day began with a welcome evening, hosted by Old Mutual Wealth in partnership with the Michelle McLean Children Trust. “This elegant event surely set the perfect tone for a legacy that continues to inspire and grow. All the contributions will be making a lasting impact,” she added.
Miss World Namibia 2023 Leoné Jaarsveld describes McLean-Bailey as a beacon of consistency, hard work and resilience.
She says McLean-Bailey demonstrates that with dedication, dreams don’t only come true but also stand the test of time.
“It is with great excitement and admiration that we welcome back the annual golf day. I have always had a profound respect for Michelle McLean-Bailey. Her dedication to her cause and her ability to sustain such a powerful impact is an inspiration to us all.
“Together, we stand united in our values, working to ensure the continued growth of our nation. Let’s continue to build, grow and thrive together,” Jaarsveld adds.
