Microsoft introduces new solutions

MICROSOFT on Tuesday launched three new software programmes designed to allow the Government and big companies to manage their widespread computer networks.

The launch of the solutions – Windows Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008 – was done at the Windhoek Country Club as part of a worldwide event which Microsoft billed one of its ‘largest ever’. “Under the theme of ‘Heroes Happen Here’, we are bringing these landmark solutions to Namibia to help people secure their information, manage their networks more efficiently and ensure their users deliver better results,” said Louis Otieno, General Manager for Microsoft in East and Southern Africa.According to Microsoft the creation of these three products was based on feedback from IT professionals who say too much time and capital is placed into managing existing systems, and not enough investment in new capabilities which should give strategic business advantages.Microsoft Namibia Business Development Manager George Ferreira said finding resources was a difficult task for many companies, hence the need for new IT solutions which pave the way to focus on ‘interesting ways to have meaningful impact on business’.”Under the theme of ‘Heroes Happen Here’, we are bringing these landmark solutions to Namibia to help people secure their information, manage their networks more efficiently and ensure their users deliver better results,” said Louis Otieno, General Manager for Microsoft in East and Southern Africa.According to Microsoft the creation of these three products was based on feedback from IT professionals who say too much time and capital is placed into managing existing systems, and not enough investment in new capabilities which should give strategic business advantages.Microsoft Namibia Business Development Manager George Ferreira said finding resources was a difficult task for many companies, hence the need for new IT solutions which pave the way to focus on ‘interesting ways to have meaningful impact on business’.
