Missing Reho man believed drowned

Missing Reho man believed drowned

POLICE suspect that a man from Rehoboth, who has been missing since November 11, might have drowned in the Orange River.

Police Commander in the Karas Region, Josephat Abel, says Frederick Jacobus Louw (42) went missing between November 11 and 19. Police launched an intensive search two weeks ago, and found Louw’s clothes on the banks of the Orange River.

Abels said they covered a 30-kilometre stretch of the river on foot and by canoe, without finding any trace of Louw.

“We’re considering calling in the Police diving team,” Abel said.

Louw was last seen at a party with his co-workers, according to the Police.

Louw worked for a construction company building a road between Rosh Pinah and Noordoewer.

He is light in complexion, 1,7 metres tall and speaks Afrikaans.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact Theodore Hanse at 081 297 666, or the nearest Police station.
