Mother raped, daughter assaulted at Kavango West

A 45-year-old mother was raped, and her daughter (20) allegedly assaulted in the Kavango West region on Wednesday.

The suspect is a 31-year-old man who allegedly entered their house with intent to steal at Ncamagoro village.

According to Kavango West police regional commander commander Julia Sakuwa-Neo, the incident happened around 01h00.

“It is alleged that the suspect entered the main door, went into the woman’s room and had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent, after that he robbed her of an amount of N$4 900 and one mobile phone. He then used a knife threatening to kill her if she reported the incident to the police,” Sakuwa-Neo said on Thursday.

The suspect then proceeded to the complainant’s room, which is the daughter, and threatened that he was going to kill her if she was not going to keep quiet before cutting both her hands with a knife.

The suspect was arrested, and the money and the cell phone were all recovered.

Police investigations continue.
