Ms Gideon set to perform at the Apollo in New York

The 21-year-old Windhoek born musician and songwriter, Ms Gideon, is set to represent Namibia on one of the world’s most famous stages – the Apollo Theater in New York.

After winning a social media competition hosted by Next Narrative Africa, she will be performing at this venue, a major milestone for her career.

Ms Gideon, known for her soulful music and recent debut album ‘5-Star’, expressed her joy about the opportunity.

“You are never too young to go for what you want,” she says.

This achievement is part of her involvement with Next Narrative Africa, a multimedia entertainment company focused on promoting African and African diasporic stories.

Founded by Akunna Cook, the company aims to shift the narrative about Africa through the creation and production of content that highlights the continent’s creativity and economic progress.

Ms Gideon will take the stage at The Bridge, an event hosted by Next Narrative Africa that will feature major African stars like Adekunle Gold and Patoranking.

This concert, celebrating African creativity and narratives, will coincide with global discussions around leadership and innovation, making Ms Gideon’s performance at the Apollo an event to watch.
