MTC launches cellphone banking promotion

MTC launches cellphone banking promotion

MTC’s cellphone banking customers have double airtime to look forward to, following the launch of a new campaign yesterday.

According to a media release issued to the telecommunications company, customers who buy airtime using Bank Windhoek or First National Bank cellphone banking will receive double the airtime (after the normal 15 per cent VAT deduction). The airtime can be used for any voice, SMS or data session, and once the promotion ends on Wednesday, remaining airtime will not expire and customers will be able to continue making use of their double power. There is no limit to the amount of airtime customers can buy during the promotion, and by default, customers are also allowed to transfer airtime to any other Tango numbers. The double-up airtime will, however, not be available for contract payments via Bank Windhoek cellphone banking. MTC’s General Manager for Corporate Affairs, Albertus Aochamub, says the promotion was initiated especially for MTC’s cellphone banking clients, who were unable to benefit from a previous extra airtime promotion due to technical issues. The campaign, which began yesterday, will run until next week Wednesday, January 28.
