MTC Namibia has taken a creative approach to marketing its new mobile wallet service, MTC Maris, by launching an anthem featuring some of the country’s top artists.
The song, a collaboration between Ann Singer, Tswazis, Pride Panashe, Snazzy, and Glo, is designed to make MTC Maris both memorable and relatable to consumers.
Maris Cup project coordinator Elisabeth Massamba says the decision to create a song was a strategic move to educate users on the convenience of the MTC Maris mobile wallet service.
“People tend to memorise a lyric or tune more easily than plain speech. By incorporating a compelling storyline, we’ve made the service more engaging and easier to recall,” she says.
The song blends rap, gospel, R&B and Afro-pop to reflect the diversity of MTC’s audience.
“We wanted a creative collaboration that brings unique energy and authenticity,” Massamba says.
For Ann Singer, the song’s creation was an exciting challenge.
“We immersed ourselves in MTC’s mission of connectivity, innovation, and inclusivity. Every lyric and melody was crafted to tell a story of empowerment and endless possibilities,” she says.
The artists aimed for a modern Afro-fusion sound that resonates across generations.
“It’s a sing-along track that positions Maris as the plug – your friend in financial transactions,” Singer says.
The MTC Maris theme song is currently available on online streaming sites, including iTunes, Spotify, YouTube and Joox.
