MTC opens dealer shop at Otjinene

Mobile Telecommunications Limited opened a dealer shop at Otjinene on Tuesday.

The company says the expansion aims to enhance accessibility and convenience for residents.

MTC spokesperson John Ekongo says the company previously relied on NamPost as the sole service provider at Otjinene, offering limited options like SIM card sales and replacements.

Ekongo emphasised the customer-centric focus driving the expansion.

“Easy access to our services is a core principle for MTC,” he says.

“Previously, residents of Otjinene and surrounding areas faced significant challenges, travelling hundreds of kilometres to locations like Gobabis or Grootfontein to open a contract account. We are delighted to eliminate this inconvenience.”

Ekongo further says the initiative will not only decentralise MTC’s service network but also fosters economic empowerment for dealers through commission structures, particularly in remote areas.

Otjinene councillor Erwin Katjizeu has commended MTC’s expansion to remote regions and highlights the positive impact on both individuals and local businesses.

“This initiative serves as an economic stimulant. Residents will now enjoy easy access to advanced communication tools and improved services, bridging the digital divide. We wholeheartedly celebrate and welcome this development, as it aligns seamlessly with our community’s development strategy,” Katjizeu says.
