MTC to discontinue Aweh Gig and Go

Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC) will discontinue Aweh Go, Aweh Gig and the Happy Hour function on Super Aweh as of 9 May.

According to the company’s spokesperson, Erasmus Nekundi, this is in response to the demands of its customers.

“MTC Namibia has introduced three new offerings that offer more value and flexibility to the market,” said Nekundi.

The chief commercial officer of MTC, Elton Katangolo, said that the company has to make these adjustments and offer products that are cost-effective, while giving more value.

He added that the new products are backed up by market research and demand.

“Accommodating price points to cater to a wide range of clients’ needs, and these varying price points gives customers flexibility in terms of product duration and resource provision. We have listened to the market’s demand; hence the features of the new products are informed by market research,” said Katangolo.

He added that Happy Hour will still be there, but just not on Super Aweh.
