Retired Namibian College of Open Learning (Namcol) chief executive Haroldt Murangi has been appointed as the new executive director of the Namibian Institute of Public Administration and Management (Nipam).
Murangi’s appointment was confirmed by Nipam governing council chairperson George Simataa on Monday.
“I am not sure if he has assumed duty, because I am still at the village, but the appointment is correct,” Simataa said.
A Nipam source says Murangi, who retired from Namcol towards the end of 2023, assumed duty on Monday morning.
Nipam has not had an executive director since its former executive director, Maria Nangolo, left in 2023.
Nipam’s director of academic affairs, Rebekka Kakololo, acted in this position until 31 December last year.
