MVA Fund urges caution after fatal Auas Road crash

The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund has extended its condolences to the families of the victims of a tragic accident on Auas Road yesterday.

According to MVA spokesperson John Haufiku, the crash, which took place near Truckport at approximately 18h11, resulted in two fatalities and left 11 others injured.

“The crash had 1 entrapment and 11 injuries with severe to moderate degree of injury.”

He says according to the call recorded by the call centre, the entrapped passenger succumbed to injuries on the scene, while one driver died at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital.

“The MVA Fund encourages affected family members to visit the MVA Fund Service Centre in Windhoek for relevant claims such as funeral grant, injury grant, loss of support and loss of income benefits,” Haufiku says.

He says the fund and its partners in the road safety sector implore all road users to be vigilant and thorough when preparing for travel.

“The MVA Fund reminds all road users to report crashes to the MVA Fund’s toll-free accident response number 9682, as doing so can save a life,” he says.
