She came onto the music scene with her signature angelic suprano voice. Starting off with a solo career, Adora was soon spotted by the acclaimed local acapella group, Vocal Motion Six (VM6), to which she now lends an unmistakeable feminine feel.
Hailing from the //Kharas Region, the beautiful and talented songstress took the Namibian music industry by storm and continues to dominate.
She has achieved great success with VM6, winning international awards, performing at international music festivals and hosting one of the great names in acapella, Rajaton, in the first ever acapella festival in the Land of the Brave.
“Music means the world to me! It is my comfort zone, my inner child, my instinct, my inspiration, my weakness, my strength, my home, my peace of mind,” Adora says.
The Weekender takes a look at her top books, songs and films…
Top books
1. ‘My Best Life Now’ by Joel Osteen, I don’t read much but I like this one because it was a birthday present and he is such a motivational writer.
2. ‘Why Men Love Bitches’ by Sherry Argov, the name may not sound so friendly but this book is filled with scenarios and advice aimed at making one subtly stronger and more empowered. It’s not only funny but it’s real! It is full of ‘slice of life humour’, that covers everything that frustrates women about men and covers all the relationship issues you could ever think of.
Top three songs
1. ‘Clown’ by Emeli Sande. It is like she took the words right out of my mouth
2. ‘Say Something’ by The Great Big World and Christina Aguilera. This song has very few words but it’s so easy to relate to.
3. ‘Little Things’ by One Direction. In that song, a man merely appreciates the curvy woman who talks in her sleep, who squeezes into her jeans, who hates her voice on tape. A woman who has such low self esteem but is still so loved by her man, just the way she is.
Top Movies
1. ‘Ip Man’. This movie is the realest kung fu movie I have ever watched. It’s a movie about the story of Bruce Lee’s coach.
2. ‘Avatar’. I love it because of its story. The director of that movie, James Cameron, was good.
3. ‘Titanic’. I’m a sucker for romance!
