The well-known M+Z Motors brand opened up its new showroom and workshop facilities late last week.
This comes after they introduced upgraded facilities in February 2022.
M+Z Motors managing director Ekko Eisenberg says this indicates growth in the volatile motoring sector for M+Z Motors in the northern parts of Namibia.
The glamorous event was attended by many local businesspeople, regional and community leaders, as well local commercial banks. Oshana governor Elia Irimari delivered the keynote address.
The group added six brands to their portfolio and that, along with increased business in the region, left them with no option but to expand their facilities, complete with offices, workshops, washing bays and more to meet the increased demands.
“Today, we are in the car industry, as you know, and we are proud to be in the industry. It is a tough industry and we know it is very volatile due to the economic environment,” Eisenberg said during his opening remarks.
He added that despite economical challenges, the group still wants to serve its customers to the best of its abilities.
“We acquired six additional brands during last year for the M+Z group and we needed further showroom space to be able to display and bring them closer to our customers,” Eiesenberg said.
Some of the new brands referred to include Cherry, Ineos Grenadier and the brands under the KHMR group. These brands enhance the already well-placed portfolio in the industry.
This new development adds value to the labour, finances and development of the region.
Irimari commended the group on the development they bring to the Oshana region.
“This occasion signifies our commitment to forging growth and opportunities in the north central parts of Namibia,” the governor said.
The second showroom, adjacent to the first one opened in 2022, serves as a hub to grow businesses and the economy.
The development and progress by means of opening or enlarging motor dealerships not only enhances the communities but empowers the communities they operate in, Irimari added.
“With each vehicle sold, we do not just operate a mode of transportation but contribute to the journey of eminence,” Irimari said before unveiling a new plaque alongside Eisenberg.
Guests were taken on a facility tour, which included the newly built workshops, to understand the purposes of the entire development.
Branch manager Anna Muleka said she is excited to spearhead a team that knows what is expected from them when it comes to the automotive business at Ondangwa.
“We have all the brands under the M+Z flag here at Ondangwa.”
Muleka said the JAC range is not only capable and affordable, but fuel efficient for its size.
With a track record and history of 88 years in the country, M+Z Motors is also the oldest Mercedes Benz dealer in the same private ownership on the African continent.
