THE police last week seized drugs valued at N$1,6 million in five separate searches in Windhoek.
During a press briefing on Friday, Khomas regional commander Joseph Shikongo said on Tuesday at about 19h00 in Freedom Land location, two suspects were found dealing in 2 910 grams of crystal methamphetamine (tik) valued at N$1,4 million.
They were also found in the possession of 11 mandrax tablets valued at N$1 310. The suspects, who are Angolan but with Namibian citizenship, were arrested.
On Wednesday at about 19h00 in Windhoek West, loose cannabis and dagga plants with a value of N$10 000 were recovered from a 20-year-old Namibian man during a police search. He is currently in police custody.
Shikongo added that a 28-year-old Congolese national was found in Windhoek North on 9 July with two grams of cocaine with a value of N$1 000. The drugs were found during a police search. He is currently in police custody.
The police further recovered 450 grams of cannabis valued at N$8 300 in Kleine Kuppe during a search last week. The suspect was arrested and is in police custody.
In a separate incident, 234 grams of cannabis valued at N$11 700 and ecstasy tablets valued at N$120 000 were recovered in Kleine Kuppe on Thursday. A 23-year-old man was arrested and is in police custody.
