N$1,77 million drug bust at Ariamsvlei weighbridge

TWO suspects were arrested on Thursday in connection with a N$1,77 million cannabis bust at the Ariamsvlei weighbridge.

Acting //Kharas crime investigations coordinator, chief inspector Douglas Hanse, said two Namibian men are expected to appear in the Karasburg Magistrate’s Court today (Friday).

They were charged with dealing in skunk, which is a form of cannabis.

Hanse said the illegal drugs were found in a truck during a search at the Ariamsvlei border post weighbridge.

“The drugs were concealed in two black bags containing 35 vacuum-sealed parcels,” said Hanse.
