Lawyer Sisa Namandje, through his foundation, on Tuesday donated N$20 000 to former inmate Paulus Shimweefeleni, also known as Ninja, to kick-start his plumbing business.
“We are all happy that you are out. It was such a long time, over 25 years in prison. I trust and hope that you will now contribute to the development of our country,” Namandje said when he handed over the money at his offices in Windhoek.
Shimweefeleni was released from the Windhoek Correctional Facility last week after serving 25 years in custody.
Shimweefeleni, at that stage 25, was sentenced in February 1999, at the end of a trial in the Windhoek High Court, to a life term of imprisonment on a charge of murder, a 20-year prison term for robbery with aggravating circumstances, and two years’ imprisonment for possession of firearms and ammunition without a licence.
