NAMAs 2015 … Behind-The-Scenes Glam Squad

WITH barely two weeks left until the curtain rises on Namibia’s most highly anticipated musical entertainment event, a decorated list of glam gurus are on hand to make sure the squad of presenters look their absolute best.

A number of designers, make-up artists and hairdressers will be lending their expert hands to the task of making the NAMAs presenters look like a million bucks on the blue carpet.

This includes an impressive list of designers like Melisa Poulton, Lourens ‘Loux The Vintage Guru’ Gebhardt and Nicoleen Nenjono. Hannah Nangula, who has made a name for herself as one of the most sought after make-up artists in Namibia, is the official make-up artist once again and Esther Iipumbu will handling the hair side of things. These are but some of the talented individuals making up part of the glam squad for the upcoming NAMAs.

Iipumbu is excited at the prospect of working at Namibia’s biggest award show. “I’m really honoured because it’s a big platform,” she said.

Poulton was equally happy when speaking to The Namibian about her latest gig. “I feel very honoured to be working for the NAMAs, it’s a great privilege and an opportunity to broaden myself as a designer, I feel very blessed.” This will be her very first time dressing anyone for the awards and in addition to the presenters, she will also dress one or two well-known personalities.

Fellow fashion designer, Nicoleen, is hard at work in preparation for the event. “I am very honoured that out of so many Namibians, I have been selected.” Nicoleen will be dressing Pombili Shilongo, Mavis Braga and Uejaa Kazondunge.
