NAMIB Mills this morning announced another price increase on their products.
The increase is as follows: The price of wheat flour and complete mix is set to go up by about 20%, rice by about 14%, pasta by some 16%, yeast by about 15% and mahangu by some 12%.
The increases were attributed to the weakening exchange rate of the Namibia dollar against the US dollar and euro. Global raw wheat prices also contributed to the increase as they are on an upward trend due to the demand for wheat exceeding global production quantities.
“Increase in fuel cost due to the increase in Brent crude oil prices, weakening of the Namibia dollar against the US dollar and an increase in fuel levies by the government resulted in the increase of business cost,” said acting Namib Mills brand manager Marné Bouwer.
She noted that Namib Mills was committed to Namibia and the company highly valued its customers, suppliers and all other stakeholders.
“It is important to Namib Mills to not only focus on great quality, excellent customer service and meeting consumer needs, but also to live in accordance with our values of being transparent with our customers,” she added.
