Namib Poultry partners with trade ministry to develop skills

KOSIE Henn, market development manager at Namib Poultry Industries, has announced that as part of developing the local chicken food market in Namibia, the company has come up with the Tuxies Fast Food menu as a first in Namibia.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry also supports the initiative.

He said at the launch of Tuxies, the first ‘Kasi’ fast food take-away restaurant in Namibia, “This initiative forms part of our smart partnership project with the ministry of trade and industry. We saw this as an opportunity to establish a truly Namibian concept,” he said.

The project known as the ‘skills development and outlet upliftment initiative’ sees participants receiving training on running and setting up a business.

The initiative also assists entrepreneurs with branding the business, menu design, staff training, supplying the business with business equipment as well as with the preparation of food.

“The aim of this initiative is to enable small and medium enterprises with the opportunity to create brands that will set them apart from other franchises in Namibia. We look forward to growing these brands through hard work and innovative thinking, and sharing our experiences with the Namibian people. By taking hands with community leaders and small business owners, we can proudly say that we are feeding the nation, because they deserve better,” said Henn.
