Namibia’s men lost 4-3 to Australia at the Indoor Hockey World Cup in Porec on Saturday and will now play out for 7/8th positions on Sunday.

After a goalless first quarter Jake Staines gave Australia the lead but JP Britz soon equalised from a short corner to make the halftime score 1-1.

Australia however took a firm grip on the match with three goals in the third quarter by Thomas Miotto, Aiden Dooley and Staines’ second.

Liam Hermanus pulled two goals back for Namibia in the final quarter but it was not enough as Australia held on for a tight win.
