The Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) will early next month host a continental athletes’ forum, says NNOC president Ndeulipulwa Hamutumwa.
Speaking to Desert FM this week, Hamutumwa revealed that the country will host the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (Anoca) Athletes’ Forum in Windhoek from 5 to 6 April.
“A continental forum where we will have all athletes around the continent coming to Namibia . . .”
“They will be discussing areas of importance and how that can shape the future of athletes. This will be one of the largest gatherings by African athletes in southern Africa, and the NNOC as a member of Anoca will host the event.
“This forum will gather athlete representatives from national olympic committees across Africa, providing a unique opportunity to observe discussions and presentations focused on enhancing the skills and support for athletes on the continent.”
Hamutumwa says media practitioners and observers will have the opportunity to witness the sessions and activities throughout the forum.
He encouraged media representatives to engage with participants during designated breaks, where informal discussions can take place.
“This will provide a valuable chance to gather insights and perspectives from athlete representatives and other attendees.”
