Namibian Scarlet Gray wins 7 medals at South African competition

Independent Namibian performing artist Melissa Müller, also known as Scarlet Gray, won seven medals at the recent South African Championships of the Performing Arts.

The competition lasted ten days at the Rustenburg Civic Centre.

Scarlet Gray, who represented Namibia alongside four other competitors, received a silver medal in the modelling spokesperson category for introducing her own Japanese-inspired clothing line, ‘Tsumugu,’ and a gold medal in the vocal rap category for her original song, ‘Must Be Nive.’

She also won a second gold medal in the acting comedy category for her ventriloquism with a hand puppet.

“This journey has been a remarkable accomplishment, and I am deeply grateful for the support I received along the way,” says Müller.

Müller competed as an independent performing artist in seven categories, highlighting Namibian artists’ talent and diversity on a global scale.

“This achievement is not only mine, but also a victory for Namibia’s creative arts community and an inspiration to young aspiring artists back home.

“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my sponsors and supporters for believing in me and making this achievement possible. Your contributions enabled me to travel, compete, and shine on this prestigious platform,” Müller says.

Müller continues to push the boundaries of arts and business, with her global recognition dating back to her early modelling debut at Miss Universe 1995.
