Voting day has been gazetted as a public holiday.

Namibians will decide who will lead the country for the next five years on 27 November.

President Nangolo Mbumba has declared election day a public holiday. This was gazetted last Thursday.

“Under the powers vested in me by section 1(3) of the Public Holidays Act, 1990, I declare Wednesday, 27 November 2024, as a public holiday for the purposes of the general elections for the election of the president and members of National Assembly under the Electoral Act, 2014,” the gazette reads.

Polls are set to open at 07h00 and close at 21h00.
