Nampa pays workers twice, threatens to withhold April salaries if they don’t refund company

NAMIBIA Press Agency (Nampa) yesterday paid its workers twice after a payroll error.

In an internal memo sent to staff on 24 March, Chata acknowledged the mistake and took personal responsibility for the unintended error.

“It will be necessary to recall the excess funds that were erroneously deposited. Should the recall from the bank be unsuccessful by tomorrow (Wednesday), you are cordially and passionately encouraged to deposit back the extra money you were not supposed to receive.”

“Failure to refund the money will result in your next month’s salary not being paid,” Chata stated.
