NC to resume

THE National Council (NC) resumed business yesterday with Chairperson Asser Kapere announcing that the National Assembly had referred one piece of legislation to the House for review.

This is the Environmental Management Bill, which was passed by the National Assembly last month. The bill provides for thorough environmental assessment studies and consultations with communities and relevant regional and local authorities before projects are undertaken.There are also two amendment bills and two reports standing over from the previous session.These are the Medicines and Related Substances Amendment Bill and the Companies Amendment Bill.The bill provides for thorough environmental assessment studies and consultations with communities and relevant regional and local authorities before projects are undertaken.There are also two amendment bills and two reports standing over from the previous session.These are the Medicines and Related Substances Amendment Bill and the Companies Amendment Bill.
