NDP promises airport upgrade,highway completion

The National Democratic Party (NDP) says it will launch its manifesto in Windhoek on 15 September, which promises to upgrade infrastructure.

This was announced by party president Martin Lukato at a press conference in Windhoek yesterday. He said the party will allow the submissions of candidates interested in contesting for and being elected to the electoral college on 26 September.

“The NDP electoral college will be held for two days, on 6 and 7 October, at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi region.

“The NDP’s members, supporters, sympathisers and the nation are all scattered throughout Namibia, the African continent and the world at large.

“My appeal to you all is to kindly mobilise, recruit and support the NDP by casting your important votes for the NDP on 27 November,” Lukato said.

He said once elected, the party would hold the government accountable.

“This is to ensure there is transparency and no more stealing of taxpayers’ money. Therefore, the NDP will have zero tolerance for corruption and looting. All culprits must be brought to book and face justice,” he said.

Lukato said the party would also fast-track the finalisation of the Trans-Caprivi Highway to connect Namibia to neighbouring countries.

“The NDP will ensure that Mpacha Airport is upgraded to an international airport, which would connect us to many neigbouring countries and attract tourists from all over the world,” he said.
