NEFF expresses solidarity with South Africa’s EFF

The Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) has expressed solidarity with Julius Malema’s Economic Freedom Fighters ahead of South Africa’s national elections, taking place later this month.

The NEFF claimed on Saturday that South Africa’s ruling African National Congress does not stand a chance of winning this year’s elections due to its failure to turn around the economy of South Africa.

“We, alongside a million of political actors in the region who share the same ideology of black economic empowerment, anticipate the downfall of the governing African National Congress in the upcoming national elections,” NEFF deputy leader Kalimbo Iipumbu stated.

“From Namibia we are closely monitoring the unfolding events in South Africa. We see this monumental decline in national support to be a generic feature of all liberation movements that have over the years failed to respond to the urgency of economic reform through radical transfer of the ownership of the commanding heights of the economy,” Iipumbu said.

He also said the NEFF is ready to collaborate with the EFF to ensure its victory in the looming polls, taking place on 29 May.
