The Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) have been effectively reinstated on the list of registered political parties to contest the November national elections.
This follows a meeting with the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) yesterday.
“The fight is over. We are back,” party deputy leader Longinus Iipumbu said soon after the meeting at the ECN headquarters.
Iipumbu said the commission will write a letter to the National Assembly for its leadership to be reinstated and for their party funds to be released.
“The ECN will make an announcement, and we will have a press conference later in the day,” he said.
ECN spokesperson De Wet Siluka confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday.
