Nekundi makes surprise visit to Natis to tackle long queues and service woes

Minister of works and transport Veikko Nekundi paid a surprise visit to the central branch of the Roads Authority’s National Traffic Information System (Natis) on Friday.

Nekundi said the visit was to assess service delivery and understand the challenges Natis is faced with.

“I came here to do a spot check without informing management to see whether our customers are satisfied with the service,” he said.

Nekundi said he is aware of reports of poor customer service at Natis.

As the newly appointed minister, he said it is his duty to address long waiting times and improve service delivery.

“Namibians should not have to wait hours for service. I’ve heard reports that people have been waiting for hours,” he said.

Nekundi said he has taken customers’ suggestion of online registration for faster service to heart.

During his visit, he inspected the vehicle registration, licensing, and learner’s licence application process.
