New IUM campus inaugurated at Eenhana

The International University of Management (IUM) inaugurated its new campus at Eenhana in the Ohangwena region on Tuesday.

Ohangwena governor Sebastian Ndeitunga at the event urged students to study hard and make their families, country, and the world proud.

He thanked the institution’s founder, David Namwandi, for making education more accessible to the community.

“The inauguration of this institution marks a future where all can thrive together in the Ohangwena region. No student should have to leave their home region to access quality higher education.

“The Eenhana IUM campus brings education closer to the people, because proximity to knowledge is proximity to opportunities,” Ndeitunga said.

He said the institution should inspire young minds to develop digital solutions, create localised software and advanced hardware systems that will position Namibia at the forefront of technological progress.

“We need to focus on creating and not just consuming. This campus is opening doors to knowledge and new possibilities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Namwandi refuted claims that the institution has received funds from the government.

He recalled that the journey to realise the IUM dream was not easy, and that people did not at first want to be associated with the institution, but that this has since changed.
