THE long-serving traditional leader of the Vaalgras community in the //Kharas region has died.
Chief Joel Stephanus died of Covid-19 complications at Keetmanshoop State Hospital on Wednesday. He was 77 years old.
His death was confirmed by senior traditional councillor Martin Biwa.
Vaalgras is located about 60 kilometres north-east of Keetmanshoop and is home to a community of the Oorlam people, who are descendants of the Ovaherero, Nama and other groups.
