Nigeria is set to host the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) annual meeting from 23 to 28 June in Abuja.
The Nigerian government and the bank signed the host country agreement for the 32nd Afreximbank annual meeting.
The event is expected to bring together over 6 000 delegates including heads of state.
Nigerian minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy Wale Edun emphasised the country’s strong partnership with Afreximbank and its commitment to fostering trade and economic growth.
“Nigeria is honoured to host the 2025 Afreximbank Annual Meetings, which will serve as a critical platform to drive discussions on trade financing, economic growth and investment opportunities,” he said.
Afreximbank president and board chairman Benedict Oramah said the bank appreciates Nigeria’s agreement to host, which demonstrates the continent’s determination to accelerate economic growth.
“The government of Nigeria has been a steadfast partner and a strong backbone of the bank. It has consistently responded positively to capital calls, injecting significant equity into the bank even when the economic environment seemed challenging,” Oramah added.
This theme of this year’s meeting is ‘Building the Future on Decades of Resilience’.
