North-eastern regions receive most rains in October, November

The two Kavango regions and the Zambezi region last year received the most rain in Namibia between 24 October and 24 November.

This is according to information provided by meteorological technician Beata Iipinge from the Namibia Meteorological Service.

High rainfall was recorded in the Kavango East region at Ndonga-Linena, with 70mm in October and 50.5mm in November.

Mashare recorded 73.2mm in November, while 24mm was recorded at Omega A.

Mpungu, which is situated west of Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West region, recorded 23.6mm in October and 97.9mm in November.

However, most areas of the country, including the northern regions, did not record rainfall in October, but received rains in November.

Some 75.2mm and 90mm were recorded in Sibbinda and Sachona, respectively.

Katima Mulilo and Caprivi River Lodge recorded 41.4mm and 22mm in November.

Omafo recorded 79.5mm, Edundja got 15mm and Ongha 45.4mm, while Eenhana received 94mm in November.

These places are all in the Ohangwena region.

King Kauluma in the Oshikoto region recorded 92.5mm and Namutoni 49.5mm.
