Nust not renewing Naomab’s contract

The Namibia University of Science and Technology (Nust) will not renew vice chancellor Erold Naomab’s contract when it lapses on 3 December.

This is according to a media statement released by Nust council chairperson Leake Hangala on Tuesday.

The council has notified Naomab that his position will be advertised.

“The employment contract of the incumbent will lapse on 31 December 2025. The incumbent has been duly notified, and all statutory formalities have been satisfied. The council has resolved to advertise the position and finalise the recruitment process
in earnest.

“The council has also taken necessary steps to avoid operational disruption in the Office of the Vice Chancellor and ensure smooth transition once the recruitment process has been finalised,” Hangala said.

Other positions advertised include the position of deputy vice chancellor for research, innovation and partnership, currently occupied by Colin Stanley, and the position of deputy vice chancellor for teaching, learning and technology, currently held by Andrew Niikondo.
