THE Bank Windhoek Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) Cup semis and finals are expected to serve up fantastic action at DTS Sport Club in Windhoek tomorrow.
NVF president Hillary Dux Imbuwa foresees more intense battles in keeping with the enthralling preliminary and quarter-final action at Mariental last weekend.
“After the first round, we anticipate another exciting tournament on the weekend, as the teams that qualified battle in the semis and then the finals. We expect really good matches,” says Imbuwa.
Revivals are looking to hold on to their title in the women’s section, with Kudos, Beaufort and Namibian Defence Force (NDF) all intent on getting their hands on the coveted trophy.
The holders will have to fend off an attack from the NDF to set up a final meeting with either Kudos or Beaufort.
“Revivals are the defending champions and we’re looking forward to see if they will be able to defend their cup,” Imbuwa says.
In the men’s draw, the ambitious Unam Vipers can end the Namibia Correctional Services (NCS) reign in the semis, while the battle of the national security agencies pits NDF A against Khomas Nampol (KNVC) in the other last four tie.
“NCS is the defending champion and can defend this championship by making sure they get into the final and win the final. Khomas Nampol and NDF A is another exciting match that should not be missed,” Imbuwa says.
“So, please come all and enjoy the games with us.”
The action starts at 08h00.
