Okahandja appoints new mayor

Beatrice Kotungondo

Beatrice Kotungondo has been appointed as Okahandja’s new mayor.

She is deputised by Akser Aupindi.

This was confirmed by the Office of the Okahandja Mayor on Tuesday.

Aupindi said after carefully looking at the challenges the town is faced with, he has prepared plans and strategies to address these matters.

He said he would consider supporting entrepreneurship and job creation at the town.

“I value the input and participation of our residents. I will establish regular town hall meetings, community forums, and online platforms for open dialogue,” Aupindi said.

He said the council is in the preparation stages to break ground early next year for the building of two hospitals.

“I am dedicated to working closely with residents, local government bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation. Together, we can revitalise and restore our town for a brighter future.”
