THE Okakarara Annual Trade Fair for 2019 was officially launched on Monday at Otjiwarongo by its executive chairperson, Ernst Katjiku.
Katjiku said all preparations for the trade fair, set to take place from 2 to 8 September at the Okakarara Annual Trade Fair Centre, are at an advanced stage.
“We expect over 250 stalls to be set up, and more than 10 000 visitors to participate at the show this year,” he enthused.
The executive chairperson mentioned that the 13th edition of the trade fair is being organised by the Okakarara Town Council.
As from 10 July, the trade fair committee is expected to hold intensive training sessions with the local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in order to prepare and coach them on how to conduct aggressive marketing for their businesses at the event.
Katjiku said a fundraising gala dinner will be held at Okakarara on 1 August, followed by a horse racing show on 10 August in the run-up to the main event.
“The purpose to separate the horse racing from the main event this year is to generate money through gate fees so that we use that money for the logistics of the trade fair activities,” he explained.
Katjiku urged farmers to organise themselves and to bring to the trade fair their best ‘fattened’ livestock to compete in the livestock category. – Nampa
