“This is why we had to give up our premises in Lafrenz Industrial and moved a few miles northwards,” Lubbe said.Little did the Lubbe clan know that the open undeveloped piece of land would become a landmark and halfway station for anyone who wants to buy, sell and even collect his mail or get a warm takeaway.Located next to the dual carriageway towards Okahandja, Lubbe and his team ensure that all their customer's needs are attended to. Getting Lubbe's undivided attention was quite a challenge for Top Revs, as his phone kept ringing with calls from people across the country. Park and Sell's business strategy is unique in the sense that they offer any client a custom-made deal which benefits both parties.“We even traded goats and sheep to assist people who wanted a trailer for their business but did not have the cash to buy it,” Lubbe said. “If it has an engine and wheels, we have our hand in it,” Lubbe said jokingly about the family business which dates back to the mid-70s.Since then, they have seen many changes in vehicle trends, with cars that used to sell like hotcakes now taking up space on the lot, said Lubbe.“The market is totally unpredictable. I think what is going to happen now is owners of V8 vehicles will start to sell, while smaller and affordable cars will be in high demand,” Lubbe said. This is not only because of fuel price increases, but the ripple effects of price increases can be felt across sectors, from food to clothing, he added. Despite a less than rosy outlook, Lubbe and his team have opted for a more diverse approach and are in the process of manufacturing affordable, quality canopies for light delivery vans. They are also in the process of setting up a service centre for older model cars, so that their in-house mechanic can generate additional revenue and assist new vehicle owners at the same time. Clients wanting to sell their cars can negotiate with Lubbe and his team in terms of prices and fees, to be paid once the vehicle is sold.As an additional service to their clients, Park and Sell also assists clients in terms of documentation, ensuring that the bank loan is settled (if any), and that there are no outstanding traffic fines or outstanding licence fees at Natis before registering the vehicle in the new owner's name.“To be transparent and open to all the parties involved, we provide all relevant documentation to the seller and owner to make sure there are no future issues between the involved parties,” Lubbe told Top Revs.“This way, we prevent any scams or fraudulent deals, which are common lately. Many people take a knock because of trying to do backdoor deals,” he added. When it comes to negotiating on an agreed price, Park and Sell offers its guidance to ensure a win-win deal for all, said Lubbe who wants to cement the company's reputation as a trustworthy dealer and ensure clients always return to them in future.
