Five-year-old Nathan Rusberg from Omaruru was announced as the lucky winner of the N$20 000 prize in the Bank Windhoek Solo Competition, which ran from 17 January to 1 March.
Nathan, a pupil at the Alpha and Omega Kindergarten in Omaruru, also celebrated his birthday in the same month. Nathan’s mother opened a Bank Windhoek Solo account at the Omaruru branch on 25 February, three days before the competition closed. The prize money will be used to pay for any academic related expenses, such as school fees, school stationary, sport equipments, textbooks and club membership fees, amongst others.
Receiving the prize, Angela Rusberg, Nathan’s mother, thanked Bank Windhoek for hosting the competition.
“I am so excited for my child. I never expected for him to win as I only opened the Solo account to be able to put money away for his future and for him to use once he is old enough to do so. This is really a nice surprise and a great birthday gift for my son. Thank you, Bank Windhoek.”
