Oshikoto boy selling frogs fatally run over

Nestor Lazarus (8) was reportedly struck and killed by a vehicle while selling frogs at Onathinge village in the Oshikoto region on Friday.

Deputy police commissioner Titus Ekandjo on Sunday said the incident took place at around 18h15 on the B1 road between Ondangwa and Omuthiya.

He said the involved vehicle was travelling from Omuthiya to Ondangwa when it hit Lazarus, who was among vendors along the road selling frogs.

The boy reportedly unexpectedly ran into the road and was run over by the vehicle.

He died at the scene.

Lazarus’ body was transported to Onandjokwe State Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and his next of kin have been informed of the incident.
