A 102-year-old woman allegedly burnt to death while sleeping at Engoyi village in Oshikoto region on Sunday morning at around 05h00.
“It is alleged that the elderly burnt to death after her bedding caught fire while she was sleeping. However, there were other people sleeping in other housing structures in the same compound.
The cause of the fire is not known since the deceased did not smoke and had no candles in her room, said the Oshikoto police regional commander, commissioner Theopoline Kalompo- Nashikaku.
