P-Square to be honoured at Channel O awards

This is the year of the Nigerian duo P-Square. The brothers are raking in one recognition after another as their reputation soars. They will be honoured with the Special Recognition Award at the 2013 Channel O Africa Music Video Awards in the iconic township of Soweto on Saturday, 30 November.

They join the ranks of Ma Brrr (Brenda Fassie), K’Naan and D’Banj as recipients of this prestigious award.

P-Square has a long list of achievements including a nomination for Most Promising African Group in the Kora Awards three months after the release of their debut album. They eventually won the 2003 Amen Award for Best R and B Group.

The group has performed alongside an array of international artists including Ginuwine, Sean Paul, Akon and Busola Keshiro. They were named Artist of the Year at the Kora All Africa Music Awards in 2010.

Voting for the Channel O Music Video Awards is ongoing and who will win Africa music’s biggest awards on the night is now in the hands of fans.
