KEETMANSHOOP – All five trial-awaiting prisoners who escaped from Police holding cells in the Karas Region over the weekend were rearrested by Monday.
Acting Regional Commander for Karas, Chief Inspector Nicky Nampala, told Nampa yesterday that Daniel Kok and Leon Kleyn, who escaped from the Warmbad Police cells, were rearrested at the southern village on Monday. Konrad Blaauw (24) and Japie Niklaaste, who escaped from the Keetmanshoop Police cells, were also rearrested by Monday afternoon near the auction kraals just behind the Keetmanshoop State Hospital.Leon Jansen (28), who escaped together with Blaauw and Niklaaste in the early hours of Sunday morning, was rearrested on the same day some 30 km outside Keetmanshoop.They are all expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Courts at Karasburg and Keetmanshoop soon on charges of escape from lawful custody.NampaKonrad Blaauw (24) and Japie Niklaaste, who escaped from the Keetmanshoop Police cells, were also rearrested by Monday afternoon near the auction kraals just behind the Keetmanshoop State Hospital.Leon Jansen (28), who escaped together with Blaauw and Niklaaste in the early hours of Sunday morning, was rearrested on the same day some 30 km outside Keetmanshoop.They are all expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Courts at Karasburg and Keetmanshoop soon on charges of escape from lawful custody.Nampa
