Prime-rose Harases (18), better known as Prime-Rose, a rookie on the music scene, has done it again.
After making her debut last year, the singer and songwriter has now officially released her first album, titled ‘Thunder’.
The launch was held at Deutsche Höhere Privatschule in Windhoek.
Harases launched her first single and music video, ‘Never Lose’, last December.
Since then she has also released three additional music videos.
The artist says she started singing at the age of five, and took keyboard lessons when she was 10.
She says attending these classes has allowed her to broaden her knowledge of music.
To keep up with a changing world, Harases released her new music on a USB stick.
“It’s easily accessible and can be shared. The primary objective was for the music to be heard, and it’s easier to disperse music through USBs than CDs,” she says.
Harases says the album is a mixture of truth and self-identification, with hits like ‘Never Lose’, ‘Tu Me Fais Danser’, and ‘Moment’.
She says the album offers something for everyone and touches on different themes, such as love, heartbreak, self-acceptance and having fun.
It contains 10 tracks and was produced by the award-winning Affarath Muhuure.
Artists such as 4×4 Too Much Power, Dixon, JHKing, and K$AT feature on the album.
Harases says she also incorporated her roots in the song ‘Toatamas’, which is her traditional name.
She is accompanied by ma/gaisa legend Dixon on this track.
Harases says ‘Fallin’ 4 U’, which is all about romance, is already a hit.
She says the title song, ‘Thunder’, was inspired by a personal experience.
“It’s about when somebody you care for is inconsistent, constantly alternating between hot and cold, and it negatively affects your mental health,” Harases says.
