Isak Alfeus (32), an inmate at the Windhoek Correctional Facility who escaped from Windhoek Central Hospital on Monday, has been re-arrested.
He was apprehended at Omaruru’s 7de Laan area on Friday morning, at 09h50.
Alfeus, originally from Omaruru, was rearrested by correctional officers from the Omaruru Correctional Facility, where he is held.
The Namibian Police has confirmed the re-arrest of the inmate, who made a daring escape on Monday while being taken for a sonar appointment at the Windhoek Central Hospital.
Alfeus is serving a 38-year sentence for housebreaking with aggravating circumstances and three counts of rape.
He was convicted on 13 October 2020 by the Omaruru Magistrate’s Court.
