Ras going back to his roots

Pioneer of the Namibian music industry and outstanding Afro-Reggae singer/songwriter Ras Sheehama, is embarking on series of concerts where he and other artists don’t usually perform.

Pioneer of the Namibian music industry and outstanding Afro-Reggae singer/songwriter Ras Sheehama, is embarking on series of concerts where he and other artists don’t usually perform.

The first of these concerts is on Friday, 1 November, at Sin City Gambling House, Freedomland, in Katutura.

“Every artist in Namibia wants to have a show in town. But I’m making sure to have one also in Katutura, so that people who cannot make it to town can come around and enjoy themselves.

“Also, I’m getting ready for a mini tour that started here in Windhoek and will move to Walvis Bay and then to Keetmanshoop so that I can also reach other towns,” he said.

This show comes after Sheehama performed at a regular venue for live music shows, the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre, last Friday.

Sheehama’s lyrics exhibit consciousness and sharp observation while conveying both socio-political criticism as well as messages of peace and love.

Fans of the veteran artist are urged to come out in numbers to hear the legend do what he does best, alongside Kwaito artist, Tosh-Tosh.

The award-winning Reggae artist also revealed that all his albums will be available at his upcoming concerts.

“I will be selling all my albums from way back at affordable prizes as I want to give back to the community.

The concert is on Friday at Sin City Gambling House, Freedomland. Tickets are available from Computicket at N$40 each.
